List Layout: Best suited for those who prioritize a streamlined and straightforward listing of documents.

“Compile to” Replaces “Export to” in WriterJournal Version 2.44

In WriterJournal Version 2.44, we have renamed the term “Export to” with “Compile to”. This change was made for two main reasons:

Clarity of Function: The term “Export” did not accurately describe the intended functionality. The new term “Compile” better indicates that this feature is meant to gather documents, apply various compile settings, and convert WriterJournal files into universally compatible formats (TXT,PDF,WORD DOCX,MD,HTML). It involves both compiling and converting processes.

Specific Use of “Export”: We now use the term “Export to” specifically for exporting WriterJournal’s native file types, such as WJDOC for documents and WJFOLDER for folders.

How to compile and export universal document file?

Users can either compile a single document or an entire folder containing multiple documents (or maybe call them chapters or scenes) into a single merged universal document file. Please See the screenshots:

1. Locate your document or folder that you want to compile in the Home page.

2. Click the "more options" button to show the "document options" menu window.

3. Select Export in the document options menu.

4. You will be directed to the Export page where you can reorder your documents and adjust the compile settings to control how your documents should be compiled.

5. Select your preferred compile file format.

6. Click the Export button to start the compile and export process.

7. Select where to save the compiled document file.

Enhanced Text Annotation: URL and Comments Attachment in WriterJournal 2.44

Enhanced Research Linking: Users can now attach URLs directly to their text, providing quick access to research materials, references, and sources. This feature is particularly beneficial for writers who need to frequently reference online content, saving valuable time and streamlining the research process.

Improved Document Annotation: The ability to add comments allows users to annotate their work effectively. Writers can insert reminders, notes, or feedback within the document, making it easier to keep track of thoughts and revisions. This is especially useful for collaborative projects where multiple contributors need to provide input.

Organized Material: By attaching URLs and comments, writers can keep their documents organized and concise. This feature helps in reducing clutter, as relevant information can be linked or commented on directly within the text, rather than being scattered across multiple documents or notes.

WriterJournal 2.44 continues to prioritize user needs, bringing tools that not only enhance writing efficiency but also support a more organized and productive workflow.

How to attach link or comment to a specific portion of your text?

Just like applying foreground color style, users can attach a URL link or comment to their text.
