Writer Journal is designed to function entirely offline. We do not collect, store, or process any personal data from users. Specifically:
- The app does not require internet access.
- We do not use analytics, advertising, or tracking technologies.
- No information is transmitted to our servers or third-party services.
- We do not access or store device identifiers, location data, contacts.
- Writer Journal processes all user-generated content locally on your device.
User-Generated Content
- Documents or notes generated by users are stored locally and can be exported as ZIP files at your discretion.
- We do not access, transmit, or analyze the contents of your documents.
File Access
- When you choose to insert images into your documents, the app launches your device’s file picker.
- This action is initiated by you and does not grant the app access to other files or folders.
- The app only accesses the selected image and does not retain or transmit it.
Billing and Purchases
- Writer Journal uses Google Play Billing for in-app purchases.
- All purchase processing is handled by Google. We do not store or access your payment information or purchase history.
Your Rights
- You have the right to access, modify, or delete your data stored within the app.
- Since we do not collect or store data externally, all data management is done locally on your device.
Backups
- The app exports all of your generated document and folder data as a zip file to your selected location when you choose to backup your data manually.
- The app exports all of your generated document and folder data as a zip file to your specified "Home Folder" -> AutoBackup folder periodically when you enabled the Auto backup feature within the app.
- The app periodically exports all of your generated document and folder data as a zip file to your device's local storage at: Storage/Download/WriterJournal/EmergencyBackup, only when you had't enabled the Auto backup feature.
GDPR Applicability
As Writer Journal does not process personal data of EU residents, we believe that GDPR Article 27 does not apply to our app. We do not offer services that involve monitoring or profiling users, and we do not target EU users with personalized content or data-driven features.
